Kris Sacra

Kris Sacra has diverse public safety experience with 23 years as a firefighter/paramedic with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. He is a member of the County’s Joint Police and Fire Active Violence and High Threat Response Group. In addition, he serves as a rescue and medical specialist for Virginia Task Force 1/USA 1, a national and international urban search and rescue team.
In addition, Sacra has 19 years of law enforcement experience and works part time for the Augus ta County Sheriff’s Office, in the Shenandoah Valley. He has completed basic and advanced SWAT training and serves as a tactical paramedic with Augusta County’s SWAT team.
As a member of the Fairfax County Active Violence and High Threat Response Group, he has assisted in developing protocols and response plans for high threat incidents around the National/Capital region. Sacra has developed and been involved with countless active shooter drills, and trained with numerous federal, state, and local agencies. He has also consulted with other agencies in the state on integrated response for hostile incidents.
Sacra recently started AVERT training and consulting. The company educates civilians on how to react and respond to various types of active violence events. AVERT also teaches civilian trauma care that empowers ordinary citizens to become immediate responders increasing survivability to those are injured until first responders arrive.
